Philipjent
So I just bought Snow Leopard & Logic 9 and my question is how/why do I do a clean install? And if I do a clean install with Logic 9 will all my settings be gone? Will my music that I created in Logic 7 still load in Logic 9 the same way I created them? Should I do a clean install with Snow Leopard first and then Logic?
yamahadrums
For clean install of Snow Leopard you have boot from the DVD and from Disk Utility to erase and format your hard drive. All of your project settings from LP7 will be saved. Just to be sure when saving your LP7 projects select to save everything in your project folder as loops etc. LP7 projects load fine in LP9. And yes-you first install Snow Leopard and then Logic. I have some doubts about the loops format from the two versions of Logic. That's why I suggest to save your loops folders from LP7 on external HDD and after both installations to add them again. Just to be sure wait for other members opinion, cause I don't have LP7 anymore.
Doye
Don't format. If you format you loose everything. Just insert the Sleeping Tiger disk and follow all instructions. All your files and settings would be saved. I know because I just did it.

Doye
I observed that I regained some hard drive space after upgrading from 10.5.8. All my files remained intact. I have not upgraded to Logic 9 as yet. Just install Logic 9 as an upgrade over 8. I see no need for any clean install. On a PC it is a different story.
