Lots of crashes - any advice?

Hi all. Up until yesterday Logic 9 has been rock solid.

Yesterday it had trouble redrawing, but was fine after a reboot. Today it's crashing all over the place - I've sent apple 3 crash reports in the last hour. It's driving me crazy. I'm working with Amp Designer and Pedalboard predominantly, trying to recreate the silky-smooth distortion of an old Line 6 patch (and failing, although that's another topic :( ) and it will randomly lock up, and crash.

The good news is that it's successfully saving backups for me before dying but the bad news is I'm nearly at the end of my fuse. Any advice on how to stop this crashing - maybe someone else has seen this and can guess the cause?

lots of crash here also with L9.

My imac was fine with L8, but L9 is definitivelly full off bugs.

This morning I was editing a loop, and L9 went poof without saving after I moved a parameter of a plugin instrument on the next track !

Same think happen when I move crossfade curves on "flexed" tracks when Logic play.

I'm a hobbist and I think L9 must be a nigthmare for the pro who must finish a project within a little time.

I was working with this project for less than 15 minutes before it crashed again. This is huge - are you sure it'll be useful?

Yes, unfortunately the interesting part of the stack trace, the Logic section, is not symbolicated (that's common for shipped Apple SW) so I can't figure out exactly what's going on. Looks like some event is coming in, Logic triggers code and then bad stuff happens.

There's no plug-in or other driver involved so it looks like a pure Logic issue of some kind. I think the

7 ??? 0x0000000a 0 + 10

line is odd, as that then triggers some abort code in Logic. That part of the stack looks corrupted of some reason. Just to be clear, if you run 10.6 and have specific drivers installed for audio interfaces, have those Saffire LE drivers been qualified for 10.6? Are you using 1.3 or 1.4 beta?

I'm using the 1.4 beta drivers.

Wonder if switching back to the 1.3 would help. Could you ask Saffire for more info what they have seen concerning MacOSX 10.6.1 and their drivers?

Also, do you get more info in the console output (open up console from Utilities) as some drivers or other system software sometimes dumps interesting into there?

One quick way to isolate this issue from drivers is to remove the Saffire drivers and run the same project with the system audio outputs, if you still have problems it is something else.
