DomitianX
I am looking to upgrade my studio monitors and I was thinking of adding a second set to my existing set of M-Audio BX-5a's. How would you go about setting this up and is is worth it? Never really understood the point but I thought I would start tinkering with it. I will be running my monitors out of a Motu 828Mkii as soon as it arrives. How would I setup up an extra set of monitors and again, is it worth it? dkgross
always great to have a really GREAT set of speakers, and a not-so-great set, so you can a/b and check your mixes. Go for it.
DomitianX
So its mostly for A/B'ing? I kind of thought that but I didnt know if maybe some crossover was happening or something along those lines.

Mehdi
I know it's not what you've been asking for but have you considered getting a sub? I never heard the m-audio but I'm sure that with an added sub, you'll free up some power for the 5' of the speakers and you'll get a much better low end response, that no other set of monitors will give you (unless you get expensive ones) and actually the whole sound will improve as each frequency range will get its own way (output). Yes it depends of your room and some other stuff, but since you said yourself "How would you go about setting this up and is is worth it? Never really understood the point but I thought I would start tinkering with it. " Then this is my answer. I'd prefer a wider frequency range anytime over a doubled narrower one. For a/b 'ing purposes, I'm ok with my home stereo as it's the one I'm used to when listening to music.
