Funky007
Hi Everyone I am a bit confused ( yeah it happens to often sometimes ) .....so kindly requesting someone to enlighten me regarding the above controller. I always used logic with a qwerty keyboard and mouse. I never used any kind of control surface so trying to work out how these things work. My main aim is to control logic plug-in effects and virtual instruments from Native instruments ( komplet 5), Waves , Sonnex oxford, etc etc..... QUESTION 1 Does this controller require programming to use with specific plug-ins or are the parameters of the selected plug-in effects and virtual instruments automatically mapped onto the controller surface? QUESTION 2 Could the Mackie C4 Pro be used side by side with the Euphonix MC control? (if I had one lol) Any guidance is most appreciated. Thank you Regards, Stephen
onewave
QUESTION 1Does this controller require programming to use with specific plug-ins or are the parameters of the selected plug-in effects and virtual instruments automatically mapped onto the controller surface? QUESTION 2 Could the Mackie C4 Pro be used side by side with the Euphonix MC control? (if I had one lol) Hello Stephen, I recently aquired a C4 Pro Reconditioned on Overstock.com. You can find them at a decent price used as well. The C4 Pro is a very intuitive controler, specifically for Logic. Actually, C4 works from the Channel strip, allows you to set levels and adjustments. By pressing the parameter knob down it jumps into the next page of parameters. For instance, Say you have Instrument channel active and you are choosing a effect plugin. After you choose the effect, pushing that knob will allow you access to those parameters. Really nice for all types of adjustments. Also provides you mobility provided you have long midi cables attached. Its really great, I enjoy using it. However, now I really need to make more workspace in my studio now, I'm fresh out of extra room to use it properly. Third party Plugs are a bit different. They do work, however they are not programed nearly as in depth as they are with Logic plugIns. I really have not worked with the interface very much right now since I am working hard to complete jobs before winter. As far as the MC controler, I really do not have a clue if it will work. I have heard that the MC uses Ethernet, so as long as you do not need ethernet while your working with Logic I would tend to think it may work, but I am certainly not qualified to answer that question. Hope this helps, Bret
Funky007
Hi Bret Thanks for taking the time to response. What you write does make it more clear. i.e. its perfect for logic own plugins. Anyone else use it successfully with any other third party plug-in? The size does concern me just a little which is why I was looking at the Euphonix MC controller, but the number of physical knobs on the Mackie C4 Pro is so very appealing, then again I was thinking of getting both. (I could put the C4 towards one side of the desk and use it for plugins) Maybe thats over the top but I can get the Mackie C4 pro so very cheep and it's an option I am seriously considering right now. If anybody else has an opinion to, please do tell... Thank you
