Inserting measure with video

I ran into a bit of a snag this morning, hope someone can help me out. I often have to add measures in the middle of a project - I'm sure we all do that. I've been using either "Repeat Section" using the green locators bar, or "Insert silence". When I'm doing just music, it's been a great way to work - Logic shifts all the midi and audio data, as well as tempo and time signature data to the right. However, today I did this while running a video, and it didn't work as it had in L8. It SMPTE locked all my midi tracks, and shifted them so they were out of sync with the tempo map (after a tempo change). It was unusable - I tried several ways to fix this and couldn't find it. Any suggestions - or is it something obvious I'm missing???
