sourberry
Hi, Format of video I am using: .mov, Apple Photo JPEG, 640 X 480, FPS: 25. On Midi Track: I'm draging the Marquee Tool to highlight the area where I want the scene cut to be. I then click on Detect Cuts and Logic is unable to create a Scene Marker. It just says searching for scene markers and then stops. Nothing happens. I've set the correct Frame Rate, 25. What could be the problem? Thank you
David Nahmani
I'm draging the Marquee Tool to highlight the area where I want the scene cut to be. Where YOU WANT the scene cut to be? That feature is to detect scene cuts in the movie, where THEY ARE. Is there a scene cut within your Marquee selection? If there aren't, the Detect Cuts button won't do anything. Also, you need the scene cuts to be pretty clear - if the movie fades from one scene to the other, the Detect Cut function may not work. If you want to create your own scene marker, position the playhead, choose Options > Marker > Create Without Rounding, and in the Marker list, choose Options > Convert to Scene Marker. sourberry
I'm working in a video I got from Flickr. This video does not have any pre assigned scene cuts in it. I'm trying to create a scene cut marker in the middle of a scene because I feel I need to create a dramatic cue there. I have your book that uses the car commercial.mov to illustrate how to work with scene cuts. However, I don't have the cd anymore. Is it possible to get the video? I think I don't understand what a "Scene Cut" means. I'll try the manual way as you suggested.
David Nahmani
Use the manual way. I think you're confusing scene cut, which means the movie goes from one scene to another (i.e. from inside the house to inside the car), with scene marker, which is a way for YOU to mark any point your want in the movie (for example a baseball bat hitting the ball, a door closing, etc..). You want a scene marker, so you have to do it manually.
sourberry
scene marker exactly. I'm trying to find the dramatic bits in the video. Its working manually, thanks. Next I want to allign these scene markers to the grid, via beat mapping. Anything off the grid and Ultrabeat starts messing up. Thanks again
David Nahmani
Next I want to allign these scene markers to the grid, via beat mapping. Anything off the grid and Ultrabeat starts messing up. So for that part you can follow the instructions in my book.
