felixsth
Hi, I got a problem with the Drum Replacement feature in logic 9.0.0, I take my kick track, set the treshold and.... when I get my midi file the velocity of the midi notes doesn't really follow my kick track, most of them are so low I can barely hear them and some are very loud (red) I tried selecting all midi notes and bring the velocity up with velocity tool but when the notes with high velocity hit the maximum, the rest of the notes wont go any higher, I finnaly did it by selecting part by part but it's a very long process when you got 5 minutes songs. Any trick? Should I put that in the bug section? anyone with 9.0.1 could tell me if it's fixed? Thanks Sorry for my bad english
MarkLambert
As far as adjusting the velocity of the new midi track, You can select all in the piano roll with the velocity displayed. Then if you experiment with the pointer tool you will find that you can "compress" or "expand the midi performance's dynamics by dragging up or down. I hope this helps. I have had problems with some of the same issues with consistancy. Also the threshold function will often select many low level transients while ignoring a lot of obvious louder transients. It's set up to be a very cool way to do drum replacement but it doesn't work quite good enough to be very useable. ml
felixsth
Thanks! It solved my problem, saved me a lot of time! It's a good workaround but still a bug. I had the same problem with the transients, but when you set the transients within the sample editor before drum replacement everything is ok and you can add or remove transient markers manually. Try that!
