External Instruments - Major Bug??

hey guys,

 

anyone experience this? upgraded to 9.0.1 and loaded up a recent project, no sounds coming out of my nord lead channels (set up as external instruments). still responding to midi data, but no sound.

 

so i click on the external instrument plugin to bring it up, and the space to choose the audio input has disappeared!? see picture attached. this makes no sense! unloading and reloading instrument makes no difference...what'd i do!?

 

googled around and found some other external instrument related bugs, but no mention of this.

hate to bump this one gratuitously, but it's still a complete mystery to me!

 

i've opened completely new projects and added External Instrument channels -- same deal. I've clicked around in the preference areas, but dont see anything that might relate to this -- and i definitely haven't tweaked anything on my own.

hmm....I haven't looked at that, but I will when I get home. I got rid of all my external gear exepct for my Triton Extreme keyboard and Motif Rack...sadly, I haven't used an internal sound out of either one in about a year...

yeah ,... it's f-d up....

 

 

I figured I could use the i/o plugin to correctly measure the latency of an external synth (finally).

but everytime I stop the transport the i/o plugin looses connection and has to be pinged,... to get audio to run through it.

Solved. Apparently in the course of the update, the device/interface in Logic was set to No Input.
