Jazzooo
Hi--I'm on the brink of buying one of these (the Pro version, actually) but I have a question. Back in the day when I had a VS2480, setting markers was as simple as hitting one or two buttons on the fly. Even more helpful was that returning to those markers was a simple as hitting the same button again. Have you set up your MCUs to be able to do something like that? is it even possible? Thanks, Doug
fader8
Hold Shift and hit Marker. 3 of the Vpots change to allow creation with or without rounding, and delete. The first 5 vpots give you direct access to markers 1-5. The fast forward and back switches scroll to next and previous markers. Also, just pressing and holding on the Marker switch enables marker mode just while your holding it, making on-the-fly markers easy when you're not in marker mode. Jazzooo
Thanks, Fader8. So in practice, once you set up a marker, say you want to return to it a few times while an artist is trying to nail a line...getting back to the marker is done by holding down shift, then marker, then grabbing one of the vpots and scrolling to the marker in question? fader8
No, but that wouldn't be easier than the way it works now. "Temporary" marker mode, (holding the Marker button in) also enables the forward and reverse wind transport controls to scroll next/previous marker. The difference is that when you release the marker button you revert back to whatever mode you were in previously. This is very quick.
Jazzooo
Thanks again, F8. Maybe when I have one in front of me, it will make a little more sense. At this point it seems like an awful lot of things to remember to do for a simple function.
fader8
Maybe when I have one in front of me, it will make a little more sense. I'm sure it will. It's really not that complicated to actually do it, but yeah, sometimes describing it can be a bit confusing.
