Flexing, Snipping & Region borders?

I'm trying to figure out the ways that Flex works with a few issues.

 

When you snip a Flex'd region into two, does L9 put down invisible Flex Markers at the "region borders"?

It seems that it keeps your Flex work as it was before the cut and prevents the time comp & expansion from "taking" from the other regions.

 

It also seems to remove Flex Markers at the snip point sometimes.

I can see the graphic wave representative change what it looks like, as it re-draws, but does snipping ever mess up the Flex work?

 

Are there things to watch out for and not do?
