jarnld
I was wondering if there is any way to process a plugin on a region of audio like in Pro Tools. In PT if you select a region of audio you can put a plugin on the track or actually apply a plugin (for example a 'gain' plugin) to the selected region of audio. Thanks again with my PT to Logic learning disability!
David Nahmani
In Logic 8 you can do that by opening your audio file in Soundtrack Pro and applying the plug-in there from the Process menu. Then flatten and save the audio file, and your file is updated in place in Logic. In Logic 9 you just click "Bounce Regions"...
jarnld
so there is no way to do it inside logic in the arrange window like PT? Doesn't that seem like a pretty big oversight in the software? Cause I use that all the time in PT! Gain and reverse especially. Tell me it aint so!? Just 2-click your audio region and the region opens in the Sample Editor. Then check the Function menu. These are not plug-ins as they work on the file, not the audio stream, which is why David answered your original question with a no. If you upgrade to LP9 you can do this with plug-ins, however.
