Tarekith
Hi all, quick question. Is there anyway to play a software instrument track without record arming it? I have my Virus TI set up so that the Virus Control midi track feeds a bus, which is the input of an audio track. This way I can play and record my softsynth in real time as audio, without needing to render/bounce later. However, I'm always recording the midi data from my playing too, and I really don't need this. It's not a huge deal, but if I could just set it up so that i didn't even need to do this in the first place, that would be ideal. Possible? David Nahmani
Yes. In the environment, cable the MIDI stream straight into the software instrument channel strip. You could do this by cabling the output of your MIDI controller on the Physical Input object (Click & Ports layer) to the channel strip (Option click the little output triangle to reach the software instrument channel strip in the other layer).
