ptufel
I've laid down some tracks, bass and drums, and I want to play along on my acoustic guitar. I set up my mic, check guitar levels, hit playback, hear the bass & drum tracks, but when I start playing along on my guitar it has no level (the track is record enabled). Any thoughts or suggestions? I've been having this problem for a long time...using Logic Pro 8. Thanks
David Nahmani
And when Logic is stopped, can you hear the guitar just fine? What audio interface etc....? ptufel
Thanks for your reply, I've checked guideline #5 and updated my profile/signature. Yes, I can hear my guitar clearly with proper level when Logic is stopped. I'm using the Apogee Duet, I have a Power Mac G5, OS 10.4.11, and Logic 8.
David Nahmani
If you're not recording, use the "I" button ( input monitor ).
ptufel
Thank you very much David! Your suggestion worked. Somehow the Apple Training Series Logic Pro 8, Level 1 book--Chapter 2, Recording Audio, didn't say anything about hitting the "i" button to play along during playback. Go figure. Thanks again, Best, Pete

Go figure. I wrote that book. The reason I didn't talk about input monitoring is because you shouldn't need it in your situation. Make sure Options > Audio > Auto-Input Monitoring is on?
