Gorwel
I'm just trying out an external drive on my Macbook Pro. I happened to have the internal sound output from the Mac connected at the time and noticed that as soon as I connected the drive to the mains, the output became very noisy: as continuous series of clicks at about 15 Hz. I thought it was the drive, but I think it's some sort of grounding issue as connecting my FW interface led to noise on the internal MAc outputs too (a different type of noise!). It seems to happen with either FW400 or 800. I have no intention of using the output for anything serious - I was just listening to some CDs whilst wiring up - but is this normal? prjkt
this is normal as the built in audio chip is pretty low quality, realtek iirc
