DjStiky Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Hey guys, I always have the MIDI out section of my Transport Bar flashing between "1 C-2 Off" and "No Out" about a second each. It does not stop. Why do I see this? Logic Pro 9.02, Macbook Pro 17", Novation Remote SL, Motu 828MKII
David Nahmani Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 Even when Logic is stopped it does not stop? Try this: 1) Quit Logic 2) Disconnect your Novation keyboard. 3) Move ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs to your desktop. 4) Restart Logic Is it gone now?
David Nahmani Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 So it's a control surface issue. Are you using the Remote as a control surface?
DjStiky Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Yes I am, and i followed Novation's guide on how to set it up. By the way, it was doing even without the Remote SL connected. i have my macbook pro on my lap, not in the studio. Nothing attached.
DjStiky Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 I just put the file back and it started again. This is how my Control Surface setup looks like.
fader8 Posted October 17, 2009 Posted October 17, 2009 The Novation automap HUI driver sends C-2 to the keyboard on one of it's ports to confirm the presence of the keyboards connection. Likewise the keyboard sends it back. That's the odd handshake scheme that Novation came up with. Weird as it is, if you want to use automap you'll have to live with it.
DjStiky Posted October 17, 2009 Author Posted October 17, 2009 Thanks for clearing this up guys, I guess I'll have to live with it. I was thinking of getting a new controller anyways. What do you guys recommend? Something with transport, mixer and parameter control and good feeling to the keys. Not hammer action though but not cheap feeling either. I could also use my Korg PA2X as a controller since I absolutely LOVE the keys on it, and get something else for Transport, Mixer and Plugin Parameters.
