Creating tempo nodes without tempo line dropping?

When I am inserting nodes on the tempo track the tempo after the nodes drops a couple of beats. I just want to change one short area and have the tempo after that stay where it was originally. But now it's four bpm under and I have to fix it. When you're doing lots of little time shifts it adds up to a lot fussing to reset the tempo.

Is there a way of inserting tempo nodes without any tempo changes being inserted at the same time?

In the act of trying out some key comm viagra to keep my line from drooping (Will it work with this modifier key? That one?) I found out how to do this. It's almost as annoying as not being able to do it, it's so finicky!

If you keep the thumb of the little hand right on the 'effin tempo line when you're making a node, then it won't change the tempo.

Ok, Apple. We smell the glove. Could you just make it a bit larger?

This is how Hyper Draw and Automation works across the entire application.

You might try to have a Tempo List open. Clicking Create there will insert a Tempo Event at the current loaction.

That's a nice tip about the tempo list. As for automation, I guess I'm used to using the pointer tip for inserting nodes but it doesn't work that way on the tempo line, instead it inserts those tempo changes. But the Glove works fine and I'm actually getting used to thumbing the line now that I know how it operates.

Oh, you mean putting the thumb there and double-clicking? Ah, yes, that works. But I thought (for some reason) that you meant using the pencil tool. And yeah, if you use the pencil to add a tempo node, forget about having its value adopt the value of the previous tempo. :(
