Audio sample stretching with Logic 8 [SOLVED]

Recommended Posts

Hey there do you know the original BPM of the vocal?

- If so drag the vocal into the arange page, double click on it and go to the sample editor tab (down the bottom of the screen)

- Then click on the Time and Pitch tab, enter the original BPM and then the new BPM and there you go.

There are a couple of things to remember, the change to the audio is destructive so if you are trying to stretch the audio to much it will sound very digital

eg from 90BPM - 128 BPM for a dance track. If you have logic 9 you can stretch different notes (the last of each phrase/line) to make it sound more human.

If you don't know the original BPM there is a great video on youtube (sflogicninja) that takes you through finding the BPM of the vocal. I'm not sure which video it is because im at work and i can't check youtube.

I hope this helped

Keep rocking
