Eric Wikman
Hi, I've assigned a KC Key Comm to Flatten Take Folders, but it won't seem to work on midi folders. Only Audio folders seem to work. Same with unpack. Eric
Eric Wikman
Anybody know if this is intended... or an oversight? Sure would save time reaching for a menu every time.
shivermetimbers
It seems the KC is more useful to flatten audio after it has been comp'd. Why not use merge for the midi?
steveH
It's funny, I tried this the other day and was surprised that my flatten KC didn't work! Yeah, you'd think it would work on both audio and midi regions.... but it does not! Sure midi flattening and audio flattening are totally different functions, however... If it's offered in a menu, it should be offered as a key command, IMHO. Definitely an omission, me thinks!
Plowman
"If it's offered in a menu, it should be offered as a key command, IMHO." Agreed. KC omissions are inscrutable to me. I'm working on a new Environment template, and I have no New Macro key command.
camillo jr
It seems the KC is more useful to flatten audio after it has been comp'd. Why not use merge for the midi? Because Take Folders won't merge? Unless you meant something else. It would also be great if there was a swipe tool for midi takes but the scissors works pretty good. But using the scissors multiplies my take folders with each cut and then each new take folder has to be individually flattened. This is still a better workflow than my previous way of auditioning and comping midi takes in Logic 7 but I think it could be improved even further. I meant something else as in changing the midi take to something like create new tracks in cycle mode ... something other than take folders. steveH
I meant something else as in changing the midi take to something like create new tracks in cycle mode ... something other than take folders. We're talking about the missing KC for the "flatten" selection in the MIDI take folder menu.
shivermetimbers
We're talking about the missing KC for the "flatten" selection in the MIDI take folder menu. I know - it's not there. So it is (once again) work around time.
