torsenstarrow
Hey guys, over my christmas break I plan on upgrading my macbook's ram and most likely the internal hard drive. What is the best way to go about doing this: I plan on getting this deal: http://eshop.macsales.com/item/Seagate/YST9320423AS/ I would install the 320 gig 7200rpm drive in my macbook and reinstall snow leopard... then I would install logic express again, and all my other applications. I would also install 4 gigs of ram as opposed to my 1 gig. I want to do a fresh install because my computer seems pretty sluggish lately. Should I just install snow leopard on the new drive? How do I go about doing this? Or should I clone my internal drive to the new drive i buy and then switch them? Sorry I have a lot of questions. if anyone has any ideas I would really appreciate it! edit: on a whole other note... should I even bother upgrading my macbook? I'm a little worried because there is a crack in the plastic casing. Not on the place where I rest my wrists (although I had a crack there before)... but its on the side casing -- picture yourself looking at a macbook while its closed...there is a hairline crack to the left of where you lift the macbook open. could this be because my hard drive gets to hot when using logic/video work etc (i normally use my external drive though...)? I'm afraid that if I upgrade it the macbook could suffer and crack more...
