tcroper
I'm really happy with the dirty/crunchy guitar tones that come with Logic's guitar amps, but the clean tones sound too "solid-statey" for my tastes when I go direct from the guitar into the instrument input on my Presonus Firebox. I have an Egnater Rebel 20 and was wondering about putting that in between the gtr and interface somehow to warm things up. The Egnater has an FX loop out, and I also have a line out on the THD HotPlate attenuator that I use. Which would be the best option to get a little more warm tube sounds in Logic? Also, would I go into the instrument input on the Firebox, or the TRS inputs on the back? I would go with the trial-and-error approach, but I'm afraid of frying something. Does anyone else use a similar setup? How were the results?
jacenty
I have used the THD's line out to record a Mesa/Boogie amp through the line in on my audio interface. Worked fine for me and some people say they are getting great results with this approach. Experiment with different speaker cab simulators. I do not know your amp nor Firebox to answer your question fully but using the THD's Line out into your interface is safe.
