Tuface
Before getting Logic, I was in the middle of sequencing a tune on my Fantom X8. Now I want to finish in Logic for mixing w/ vox & guitar. Is there a way to transfer the midi tracks I have on the Fantom to Logic so they stay on each respective individual midi track? Thanks. pantomimeHorse
You should be able to play out of the Fantom on individual MIDI channels and record into Logic, making sure you split the channels in the Environment or at least retain channel information during recording. Roland are not always the most brilliant company at telling you how to interface things which are not Roland ......... Then you can extract the MIDI info pertaining to each channel and stick it on separate Logic track. Unless David knows an easier way ? ? ? 8)

David Nahmani
That sounds about right, but make sure: 1) The tempo of the song in Logic should match the tempo of the song on the Fantom. 2) File > Song Settings > Recording: Auto Demix by Channel if multitrack recording should be checked. 3) In the transport window, click and hold the clock and select "Midi Clock Sync". 4) Create MIDI tracks or Audio Instrument for each track on the Fantom song and make sure their Channel parameters are set to 1, 2, 3.... and then on. That should do it.
