DeeEllKay
As the title suggests, a headphone jack snapped off in my 4 month old MacBook Pro a couple of days ago. The computer is still under warranty but this kind of fault quite understandably isn't covered, repair job is £350 UK pounds as the sound out socket is fixed to the main circuit board so the whole thing needs replacing. Believe me when I say I've tried everything I dare to get the thing out - it's just not happening. Bearing in mind I use this computer almost every day for video and sound production it's basically useless to me right now. One of the guys at the Apple store suggested using an iMic to channel sound out to headphones. I have one to hand but sound quality and level is baaaaad. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions? DeeEllKay
I should add, I'm not looking for a big bulky interface as I'm on the road a lot. Just something lightweight but good quality.
