Icct_Hedral
I only just started to actively use a sparse disk image for my external drive library. It's encrypted - will I see any negative effects on performance, or is it negligible? I run all my Logic projects, plugin patches, sound libraries from it. It worked fine without the encryption, but I wanted to added layer of protection, should I lose the drive... (read: have it stolen) Thanks! David Nahmani
So you have to mount the image every time you want to use that disk, correct? Once mounted, the volume is the same, whether its image was encrypted or not.

JamesPDX
Thanks. I'm trying to chase down performance issues.
lfchords
Is this still an issue for you? What about using Logic running from an encrypted disk? (not just having assets on an external disk?) =: s
JamesPDX
SOLVED: Performance issues were related to an earlier Mavericks release.
