onancxely

Wow now that was creative spelling for sure.

My general rule of buying gear is: if you have to ask if you need it, then you don't need it. You would know if you needed something.

The m-Audio 49e is USB so you don't need a MIDI interface for it. You need a MIDI interface when you need MIDI going into or out of your computer. You need an Audio interface when you need Audio going into or out of your computer. And that you obviously need, but know that your mac already has a built-in audio interface, so consider what would an OTHER interface do that the one you already have doesn't?

But anyway, yeah, rule of thumb: don't worry about gear, start producing music, and in the process of producing, if you're missing anything you will know very quickly.

I thought you were trying to spell "honestly". :D - anyway, maybe your cat crept in there in the middle of the word and walked on your keyboard?

You're welcome.
