A good vibraphone sound?

The vibraphone sounds that come with Logic are awful! They have horrible harmonics as the notes reach the notes around C1.

 

I'm trying to record arrangements to hand out to combo members to play along with my vibes...I want to record MIDI data, so the song can be edited sped up/slowed down easily....but the vibraphone voices sound awful!

 

I've played endlessly with the different vibe patches in Sculpture, and still can't get a good, realistic vibe sound. Not to mention the portamento doesn't hold well using my pedal. It all just sounds poor.

 

Can anyone recommend a good plug-in that replicates vibes really nicely?

Big Fish makes "Dave Samuels Marimba & Vibes" sample CD. I've got it and it's pretty good, but the marimba sounds are better than the vibes, IMHO. That said, they are both far better than what comes with Logic, esp if you know what the real instruments sound like. (I've now got a set of vibes in my studio, so there's no going back.)
