Multiple Outputs not in sync

I'm having a problem sending multiple outputs to a summing system. I have a summing mixer with 11 inputs (12th not working right now). I send audio to the mixer and return the signal back into inputs 1 and 2. The first two inputs on the mixer are for all the drum busses (I have a close mic buss, overhead buss, ambient buss). The second pair are for guitars. The bass on one fader, etc. None of the outputs are in sync.

I have PDC set to ALL.

If I set PDC to Audio and Software inst tracks, then the outputs come back into sync. However, then all the PDC is off within logic and my toms are not aligning with the overheads, etc.

Any ideas what could be going on?

Thanks.

Hello osumosan!

I don't understand: to hear your Logic mix you have to use an output at some point, correct? And you're saying all your outputs are in sync.... :? what do you mean by "PDC is off within logic"?

I agree, this is confusing (though I'm sure the OP is more confused as to what's going on). OK, so please post back and tell me if this is correct... at some point your mix sounded fine. But after splitting out the various groups to separate outputs the tracks sounded like they were out of sync?

ski.

Yes, that's exactly what's going on.

David,

PDC being "off" means not in time, not toggled off in the preferences. Sorry to be unclear. My outputs are in sync only if I have the partial PDC on, but then the plugins don't seem to be compensated for and the timing problems are within each group (e.g.: all the drums are out of time).

I'm on NYC time, so I'm going to get back to this tomorrow, but I've recreated the project and imported the audio files and rerouted all the AUXes, etc without any plugins, my outputs seem to all be in sync. I have a pretty standard way of setting up my routing so I'll try building up the stripped down mix and stripping down the built up mix and see if I can find where the timing problems kick in.

Thanks for responding so fast.

Michael

Of course it was something little. I had an instance of I/O that was not active, but it was sending audio out to the same outputs as the channel output. I had used the I/O before I had the summing hooked up. I thought at the time that just deactivating the I/O would be fine. However, it screwed up the PDC of everything. Even with that channel muted, the other outputs were not sync'ed. So that solves it. Here's a shot of the strip before I removed the I/O plugin
