bufjap
When I use the crossfade tool, most of the time it doesn't work and I have no idea why. It's worked before where I get a blue box when I click and drag, but lately, for some reason most of the time it does absolutely nothing. Anyone know why? They're not loops by the way, they're mp3s. David Nahmani
Is the mp3 protected? Did you purchase it from iTunes by any chance? Try converting it to a PCM file from the Bin: choose Audio File > Copy/Convert File(s).
bufjap
When I went to convert the files, I didn't see PCM I saw like Apple lossless, AAC? and stuff like that. I also noticed that Logic created ovw files when I imported them in to my session. What are ovw files. I deleted those, and now when I try to convert from the bin, it won't let me do it. David Nahmani
You didn't answer my question re: where did those mp3 originate from? When you try converting from the Bin, you don't see choices for AIFF or WAV in the "File Format" menu? Those are PCM formats.
bufjap
I did see those options, but didn't realize they were PCM. I created the mp3s myself from projects in Logic not from iTunes. But now since I deleted the ovws I can't even get back there.
David Nahmani
OK... so now you can convert to AIFF or WAV, correct? That should do the trick.
bufjap
No, I said I can't get back to that menu that I was able to since I deleted the ovw files. What are ovw files?
David Nahmani
ovw are "overview" files, but let's leave that alone for now. In the Bin, you first have to select the audio file (the main title with the disclosure triangle to the left of the name), then you should be able to access the Audio File menu. bufjap
So how come the Audio has to be AIFF(PCM) in order to use crossfades? Because apparently it seems that MP3s and Loops can't use crossfades...
