geoffmosher
Hey all, I consider myself a decently proficient Logic user and I can normally figure out how to program ES2 to get just about anything that I want. However, I have been trying to figure this extremely fat bass sound out for quite some time and can't seem to get anywhere. I have messed with a square/sine combo that seems to get in the ballpark, but still nothing comes close. Take a listen to the clip I included to get a feel for what I am after. This is similar to the bass sound in "Satisfaction" by Benassi, but I am really looking for something with that initial clip/punch to it, thus the sound clip. Any help would be great! bass line.zip
buzwah
This I think is getting there. You just need to fiddle with the Attack. You say the sound is click/punchy but I hear it with a slower attack and the click is coming from the kick drum Anyway see if this helps in ES2. geoffmosher
Thanks, that is definitely heading in the right direction. I'm going to keep messing with it some more to see what I can come up with. Do you think there might be some side chain compression or am I hearing things? And the click/punch I am referring to that is eluding me is the double"ta-ta" click that I hear before each true bass note. I.e. as the bass is going along bom-bom-bom-bom, its the very quick double "ta" in ta-ta-bom-ta-ta-bom-ta-ta-bom-ta-ta-bom. And I definitely have to give you credit; by your .pst file name, I think you know where I got the original sound file from. Gotta love Vengeance!
