gafyn
Hi. I have bought logic and I have installed east west orchestra play engine sample player. I can't seem to find it in logic. It works on cubase 5 and pro tools 8. I have asked eastwest help with no conclusion to a solution. thanks gafyn using mac OSX 10.6.
Eriksimon
Do you use Logic in 64 bit mode? If so, quit Logic, return to 32 bit, start Logic, let it scan new Audio Units, quit when it's done, switch back to 64, reopen, should be there now, afaik it is still a 32-bit player (?not sure though, don't use Play), so it should be listed under 32-bit instruments. Or, if it is already 64, just under Instruments.
gafyn
hmmmmm no that didn't work - I must be looking in the wrong place. the PLAY engine I have installed is 32 bit - just opened logic in 32 bit and wasn't there. I find all logic instruments under library in the media bar on the far right. is this where PLAY should be? cheers
Eriksimon
Go look in Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components or in Users/'you'/Library/Audio/Plug Ins/Components, there should be a Play.component (or something with a similar name - it should have the suffix .component anyaway). If you cannot find it, you haven't installed it properly, somehow. If it is there Logic should find it. You can also check the list in your Audio Units Manager (Logic Pro>Preferences>Audio Units Manager) As for the Library Tab, I never use it, I choose my SI's from the dropdownpopup list of instruments you get when longclicking an I/O slot on an SI track. There it should be, amongst the other 32-bit Audio Instruments>East West. If none of these reveal the Play player, you should install it (again). gafyn
sorry, nothing. there is a play.component in the library. nothing in the user. And I can't find it anywhere within logic.
triplets
Click and hold the I/O button of the channel strip of your software instrument track. Then in that menu it should be under Audio Units category.
Eriksimon
So not in the Audio Units manager? Not in the SI tracks' top I/O slot? Are you sure you have the latest Snow Leopard & Intel compatible version?
