charteris
To start at the beginning. My guitar goes into a Focusrite Saffire Pro 24, this then firewires into my i mac. I try to record on multiple tracks but can only record on input 2 which is the input my guitar is in on my Pro 24 I understand that you have to have different inputs set in Logic to multi record, my question is can I take a single input and split it over more than one recording strip. I hope that makes sense i.e can I multi record with just a single input. So that I can record one channel clean and another effected for instance. fuzzfilth
There's no point in recording your guitar several times at once, other than wasting disk space and processor cycles. The recorded file is clean anyway, no matter what amount of plugins you pile up on it. Use Busses and Auxes for parallel processing. David Nahmani
What Christian said: no need to have the same data in two different places on your hard drive, and stream the same data from both places at the same time upon playback.... charteris
Thank you for the replies. I think that I got hung up on an idea an then got stuck because it wasn't working. By the way, David, your book is essential reading for all Logic newbies like myself, many thanks Regards
