Control Surfaces on a "Project Preferences" Basis

I've been exploring using control surfaces now that I have one.. It appears that they work only on the global preferences basis. I would love to be able to program things specifically for a song or project.. for example with the mod wheel doing something unusual on a plug or VI... But not have it show up in every subsequent song.

Any help is appreciated.

You're correct, the control surfaces preferences, are indeed preferences, and preferences are always tied to a user on your Mac. So each user can have their own preferences, but not each project. You can, if you want, assign your control surface as desired for a project, then quit Logic and save ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.logic.pro.cs under a folder inside your project folder. Then when you need the same assignments, quit Logic, move the file back in place and then start Logic, and start your project.

Thanks for the info...it is as I feared.

Maybe you can answer another questions. Is there a place somewhere that I can find all the control numbers for various Logic audio plug ins like Auto Filter, Fuzz Wa.. etc. I'm trying to use the internal "Vector Fader" to automate and I can seem to make it control the plugs.

Thanks

Thanks for the great information, but it doesn't solve my problem. I'm trying t cable a Vector Fader (the one in logic) to Fuzz Wa. I know of no way to cable it other than into the fader at the top. I've been able to route it to the ES2 as that instrument has a router. I have yet to find a way for it to control a plug in like Fuzz Wa. When I try to use channel 1 or 2, it just changes the fader level... How do I cable into a plug in for control?

Thanks for any help you can offer.
