vpunk
Hi Guys, I've been having this issue lately where when I'm working in Logic, I'll get these really lame PWOD for a few moments, as well as when Im trying to change a song in iTunes. I googled the hell out of this and came up with nothing. Anyone have some insight? Thanks! Ty.
triplets
Do you have Time Machine running?
vpunk
Sometimes I run timemachine, sometimes not. It seems to happen regardless though?
triplets
Do you have your energy saver settings (System Preferences) set on putting the HD to sleep whenever possible?
vpunk
Hey - I just did that, and also checked for any software updates, and it's still happening. I should point out that Logic just behaves iradically anyway while thishas been happening. Any thoughts? Thank you for your time!
triplets
Any external HDs connected? Overall HD health?
vpunk
Not sure the best way to check HD health? I have all my logic on one HD in my mac. that's dedicated for logic. then I have pretty well everything else on my main drive. I should point out that the drive with my logoc files on it is only a year and a half old??
triplets
You mean you don't have Logic on the system drive in the applications folder? Logic should be on the system drive in the applications folder. You can have sounds on other drives but not the main app.
vpunk
Sorry I should have clarfied my last point. The logic application is in the application folder, however all my sessions and audio files are store on a second drive called audio. Apart from this today, as well as the other day, I've gone to start Logic and it does nothing. It has the slow strobing light under the icon in the task bar, and nothing opens. So at that point all I can do is force quit logic. Should I asume that these are related? Thanks!
triplets
If you don't see the "Logic Pro" name on the top left Logic didn't complete the startup. You might have some issues. Could be 3rd party stuff or external gear. One thing you can try before anything else is grabbing the logic preference file and putting it on the desktop. It's under User/Library/Preferences You'll lose some settings but it might be the solution. If not try the following: First try to start up Logic with no plugins (holding down Control if I remember correctly) and no external gear. Then turn on component after component to troubleshoot. Sounds like a lot of fun, I know, but at this point you have to start troubleshooting.

vpunk
I guess I should also point out that these problems occured at the same time so I figured they were related. Sure enough. Cheers.
