ski
I'm in the process of deleting never-used channel strip settings and similar items from my ~/Application Support/Library/Logic folder. Upon trying to delete the first item in my crosshairs, I got an "authenticate" dialog from the system. Turns out that my permissions for the items in this folder are set to Read Only, even for the admin. So I changed the permissions to Read/Write and now I can do what I want. But here's the question... Is there any reason why I can't leave the permissions set to Read/Write? Is there anything about the system or about Logic whereby setting the permissions to something other than (the default) Read will cause problems? Eric Cardenas
Your permissions were plain WRONG! You should have Read/Write within your user folder. So my answer is NO! There is no problem in keeping that setting, "au contraire", you could run into problems if you do not have that kind of permission access inside your home folder.
