Pistol pete
I would like to know if it is possible to automate the start and end time of a sample throughout sections of a track in logic using the exs24. If automation is not possible, are there any other ways to control these parameters? Thanks, pete
aj_quiksg
do you mean automate the length of a sample throughout the track? as in flexing it or using the pitch/time machine i suppose, but with an esx24 paramenter?
ski
If you're talking about samples which have essentially zero release time, sample playback length is determined by note length. In the event you have one-shot samples, turn off one-shot and then use the note length to adjust the playback length. The start time can be altered dynamically by modulating the "sample start" parameter; but it can only read about 1/2 second maximum (estimated) into any given sample. Pistol pete
My apologies, what i meant to say was can i automate the start/end of a looped sample. To put it in context i would like to record one sustained note for say 8 bars and have that loop playing at a fast rate and then gradually slowing down til the sample plays normally. aj_quiksg
You can use the slow down/speed up features in the inspector, they are hidden behind the fade in/ out parameters. It may only work with audio though ill have to check when I get a chance...if you want to try that just choose the region, choose fade out or in and change it to speed up or down and then input a value to the right of it
