Hicksou
Hi Guys, this forum is terrific. I was an occasional user of Logic 8 but now I have to work only on this DAW, and I am a little bit lost. First of all, I have created a template with all my libraries sounds from Kontakt. This template is around 15 multi tracks but each time with 6 midi channels for a total of 90 tracks. Each multi track is loaded with a Kontakt. I have a lot of questions: 1) When I record a track, I click on the red button "R" and start the recording. I play something on my keyboard. Ok, the midi track has been recorded but loops are created until the end marker (for example if the end marker is on measure 140 and my record is only two measures long, I will have 69 loops added!!! Weird). I am pretty sure it is only a setting issue, but I can't see where. 2)Sometimes, I want to record several tracks at the time. I click on the "R" button on the four tracks, but only one track is in grey. I record and when I stop, all the tracks got a new midi track, but the grey track is the only track with a midi part with its own name. The other ones got the same name as the grey track. For example, let say I have Track 1, track 2 and track 3. When I record the three tracks together, with Track one selected (but all 3 ready to record with the red R) I got finally one midi part with the name track1, the other ones have the name "->Track1". I guess it means that the midi part has been recorded only one time and has been put on the other tracks. That's ok, but what I cannot understand is that if I am using a modwheel. The Grey track (selected one) is the only one with the modwheel data recorded. The other ones have only the notes recorded (into the "-> Track 1" part). I would like the data from modwheel (and others CC#) to be duplicated as well. Because now I have to copy paste track1 into track 2 and track 3... What a waste of time. 3)The last question, very important also. With around 100 tracks, I would like o group them so I can hide them as a group or only see a group track (or whatever) when not using part of them. For example grouping in four parts of 25 tracks so I can work on part 4 for example and not have my screen full of the 75 others. I have only found a hide button but track per track. I know I am a newbie (and moreover a french newbie) but if you have any answers to my questions, do not hesitate, as I am stucked with those issues. I am reading the manual, but there are so much stuff to read I will not have finished before months! Thanks a lot in advance again.
Scott Jackson
Hi Hicksou, I will attempt to answer 1 of your questions in this thread. When I record a track, I click on the red button "R" and start the recording. I play something on my keyboard. Ok, the midi track has been recorded but loops are created until the end marker Click on the offending track and uncheck Loop in the Inspector. I would like to suggest taking a read through this, paying particular attention to #2, #4 & #5. Once you've read that you will understand why. Then you can freely edit your original posts subject line to something more meaningful to your question and you can take your additional questions out and create individual threads for each. David explains why in the Forum Guidelines
David Nahmani
Hi Hicksou, please edit your post as instructed by our rules - I see Scott already provided you with all the links. Thank you! Let's tackle only question #1 in this thread. You can look at this other thread: After recording, how do I turn off loop setting? [sOLVED]
Hicksou
Sorry Guys for this thread. First of all, thanks a lot for your answer regarding question 1. I will try the search functions for questions 2 and 3 and if I cannot find, I will create separate threads. Thanks again.
