Juicy
I made this for a class project, It is completely made from samples i recorded with an AT2020 USB Mic of my dieing 1998 Nissan Altima. Anyway its called Purgautotory and its about that car paying for it's sins, mainly the $2000 I dumped into before it finally died. Oh well it had 280,000 miles on it. Enjoy, let me know what you think. Oh yeah, I used Logic Pro 9 on a 13" Mac Book Pro http://www.purevolume.com/Juicy32917
Thetaobera
That was both wildly fascinating and irritating. Every sample was from your car? What made the synth/orchestral sounds, if I may ask? Really fun stuff. Thanks for sharing it.
Andyreww
Hi - A very interesting track. What did you use to record the car samples? Andy
Rev. Juda Sleaze
I loved the beats, but the melody sounded a bit too much like GM strings in places. Next time you could try wiping the windscreen with a damp cloth, it's really good if you want high-pitched stuff without having to pitch-shift into oblivion. Good work! Juicy
Thanks for the feedback, for the synth sound everything was made from different recordings of the horn. A lot of eq, pitchshifting, streching, amp designer, etc. I recorded it all with an audio technica usb mic. For the screehing i got the windshield wet and rubbed my thum on it then distorted, for the slap bass sound i just slowed the door slamming way down and distorted. Let me know if you have any other questions, Oh yeah in the middle there is part that kinda sounds like someone talking in a weird language- that was just the handbrake being pulled and then i completely messed with the sample ( distorion, eq, reverb, and reversed it)
El Mustache
I thought that was totally bad ass! I love how it kicks back in around 3:20. I would have liked it even if it was not car sounds but that just added to the mystique.Great creative song.
