fallen_angel
Hey guys, im really struggling to get to grips with sculpture, I'm snowed in at home so cant ask my tutor. Any ideas on how to create a creaking door, click and a liquid being poured sound using sculpture and effects? when ever i try i get either really metallic or traditional synth sounds, so i start again and end up with the same sound, any help/tips or advice would be greatly appreciated
David Nahmani
Any particular reason you're using Sculpture for that? I would simply sample those sounds myself or try to find an existing sample. IMO Sculpture is not the right tool to try to emulate realistic sounds.

David Nahmani
OK I see - interesting exercises! I would recommend finding some good samples (you could start in the Loops browser) to use as reference, so you know what to go for. For a creaking door, you probably want some kind of pitch modulation, starting high up and going down. For liquid pouring, you may be able to get some kind of bubbly sound with the bounce setting of Object #3. You could also start with various Sculpture presets that may be close to what you're looking for, then tweak them further to fine tune everything. Good luck! Feel free to share your results with us, I'd be curious to hear what you come up with!
Person99
I think for both of those sounds the waveshaper will be useful and the morph pad should help on the water. The click should be easy with the right material and dampening.
fallen_angel
cheers managed to do dripping liquid, but i cant work out how to use the morph pad, been sitting here for ages trying to figure it out, i map out a path it gets half way round then stops till just before the end and jumps to the last coupe points, also the sound doesnt seam to change even tho there is different settings on each corner you the 0 abcd bits.
