record/record toggle

I don't have a "record/record toggle" key command? Is that new in 9.1.3? Or do you mean the "record toggle" key command?

The "record toggle" command does not start recording, never did. It toggles the record button. Usually you already have the project playing when you use that key command, so it switches from play mode to record mode and the transport continues running. But if it wasn't running to start with, it won't start running when you press the "record toggle" key command.

Really odd. I've got "Record/Record Toggle" on my 9.1.3. I bet if you look closely you'll see it. Or maybe it's been carried over by some old prefs. It was there even in 7.x. Otherwise, I guess it's broken. It always acted like the similar tapedeck function of hitting record and play at the same time. Ive had it set to "command/space which corresponded with the pro tools default key command for the same function.

Hi

Record/Record Toggle function is there, and seems to have been all the way back to v8 (???)

Just tried the function here, and it works correctly. Maybe there is something 'funky' with your KC's? ( On my system, CmD space opens Spotlight) Try re-assigning it temporarily to some other key combo.

yes that's what mine looks like also. I always have spotlight's key commands turned off and just now tested it on my laptop and it works fine. But it's still not working on my mac pro. Both are 9.1.3. Since it's working for you and on my laptop I'm sure I'll get to the bottom of it.

I'm thinking the screen shot David posted is possibly with the menu set to 'Used" rather than "all"

Nevermind, I was trying to help that guy in that other thread and completely forgot that setting.

OK so I tested it, and yes, I can confirm that the key command "record/record toggle" starts recording when pressed, just like the key command "record", here in 9.1.0.
