ES2 patch sounds like crap in mono, what to do

I got this patch that's quite similar to "classic trance 2" and it sounds really crappy in mono. Is the best alternative to print it to audio, then take a mono channel, and create my own stereo using sample delay or some pitch shifting? What is the best way to do this, to separate to mono channels to their own tracks, and then apply processing, or by using just one mono track and convert the track into stereo with some plugin?

Not sure if you're using the Classic Trance channel strip or what, but if you are, take off the Ensemble, Limiter, and EnVerb (opt-click them to bypass) and it should now sound fine in mono.

Even the Stereo Delay is adding to the problem in mono, but it's not the worst offender.

I'm using my own channel strip, and I've checked the patch in mono without any fx, and the cancellation still happened. I've also tried to tweak the patch, make it as dry as possible, but haven't had any success. I'll try the default classic trance patch without fx to see if it works in mono.

To sum some of this up, it seems that no matter what is done, a stereo source won't give good enough results in mono, when the sound is supposed to be the main element for the part. So, looks like I'll have to keep my main elements in mono, just to ensure the good all- around mono compatibility.
