adameep
hey all... total newbie here....I just started using Logic Pro 8.0.2 on my macbook (OS 10.5.8)...and am working with a long, live recording sound file with a HUGE dynamic/volume range and would love to raise parts of the file up by more than the seemingly maximum +6db that volume automation allows. is this possible? to go past +6db? am i missing something obvious? anyhow, let me know...thanks! ~adam
Jordi Torres
Use the gain plug-in. J.
adameep
hey... thanks for the response...would you mind explaining the use of the gain plug-in to a newbie? does it effect the whole track? i only want to raise a section within the track that is very quiet...the rest of track is already at it's maximum volume (0db) before it would clip... anyhow, thanks for your help again! ~adam

Hmm, that's not good....you should turn things down then. Read Lagerfeldt's guide on levels in digital audio: http://www.popmusic.dk/download/pdf/levels-in-digital-audio.pdf J. David Nahmani
Or cut that weak section, stick it on a new track and add the gain plug-in there. Just... make it work!
