Ryanemc
Hello. I am trying to figure out how to assign 2 keys on my midi controller (C1 and D1) to act as a transpose up/down function using the Logic environment. I am new to working with the Logic environment so any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!
David Nahmani
Transpose what? Incoming MIDI notes? What is being played back? Ryanemc
Sorry about the lack of info regarding my previous post.... I am trying tho set up a way that I can use 2 keys on my midi controller to transpose incoming midi notes up and down one octave on the fly. For Example, I would like to be able to transpose the keyboard note F2 up to F3, or down to F2, using C1 and D1 as key switches. In other words, I am looking to achieve the same ultimate effect as the transpose up and down buttons found on many midi control keyboards. Since my controller does not have this feature, I would like to see if I can use the Logic environment to achieve it Like I said, I am very new to the Logic environment and any help is much appreciated! David Nahmani
What is your MIDI keyboard? What you describe is the equivalent of Octave -/+ buttons, which most controllers already have. If yours don't have them or you don't like them, yes, you could program that in the environment.
Ryanemc
Yes, the equivalent of the octave +/- buttons are exactly what i am trying to achieve. I am building a custom midi control surface from scratch and so I do not have those buttons already built in. That is why I would like to somehow use the Logic environment. If you have any examples or could point me in the right direction on how to create such an environment that would help me out a lot. I have searched for such a template but could not find anything that did exactly what I am looking for Thanks!

Ryanemc
The keyboard is a Doepfer with Livid instrument buttons and slide pots.
