Greeny009
Hi, I'm having an issue trying to get multiple midi channels to record. The midi data is being sent from an algorithmic patch i made in pure data via an IAC bus. In the logic environment i have the data coming from the physical input object into a channel splitter then to various channel strips. I have tried experimenting to get the midi data to record but i can only get it to record on the track i have selected in the arrange window rather than all the tracks separately. I hope there's a way to do this. Is there a way to have multiple sequencer input objects routed to specific tracks in the arrange window or something? I'm seriously stuck with this and it's essential that i can record the midi Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks in advance
fuzzfilth
You have exactly one Sequencer In object which actually is the MIDI input of the currently selected track. To record multiple MIDI Channels to multiple tracks at once, you first need to engage Auto Demix By Channel If Multitrack Recording in Project Settings/Recording. Then setup, say three tracks with three Instruments receiving on channels 1, 2 and 3. Those could as well be subchannels of one Multi Instrument. Now click the record button on all three tracks and hit Record. Christian
Greeny009
Thanks for the reply fuzzfilth but unfortunately i still can't get any of the instruments to record without using the sequencer in object I ticked auto demix and it still doesn't make a difference. I've tried everything I can think of. I've made sure all the tracks are record enabled and tried various setups. I'm under the impression that if i have midi data going to the instrument that's associated with a certain arrange track that click record enable on that track should just record the midi. Am i missing something? [Moderator's Note: Screenshot removed -- too wide. Please read our Forum Guidelines, item #8, before posting.]
fuzzfilth
You use the SequencerIn and only the SequencerIn for recording. What doesn't pass the SequencerIn will not get recorded. Christian
