guitarguy4034
I just got Logic 9 and the Akai MPD26. I would like to start producing music and sampling songs etc... but I'm not sure where to start. Can someone help me set up the MPD26 with Logic, or guide me in the right path to understanding both? I'm able to play basic drum beats and stuff, so far, and I have read most of the manuals, but I think I'm missing a lot.
David Nahmani
I already gave you a link in your previous thread: http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=334182. Have you tried that? What else do you need to do with the MPD?
guitarguy4034
I know, thank you for reminding me.. I'm just a little perplexed as to what/where to begin.. What is a good way to set it up?
Jordi Torres
Here's another thread about setting up the MPD26 with Logic (specifically, controlling Logic's transport from the MPD). You can also send MIDI clock from Logic to the MPD to have the MPD's Note Repeat function follow Logic's tempo. People usually ask about those 2 things. Which one you want? J. guitarguy4034
I'm trying to set up the mpd so that the top 6 sliders control the volume of 6 separate tracks, however after I do the cmnd+L thing and make it so each one controls a different track, I can only adjust one tracks volume at a time. Also, when I'm on a track, I can control that tracks volume with any of the sliders, and I'm not sure why. Anyone know? Also, (I'm really new to this so bear with me), there are a bunch of knobs along with the sliders, what do producers often assign these knobs to? Thanks

Then assign the volume fader using Command-L. If it's not working now you'll want to first delete all your assignments, and start over.
