nixoblivion
Ive got 2 questions about how to organize projects in Logic: 1) when i import files to Logic, they normaly get weird names with Projectname_B#30A23A231S23 or similar! Why does this happen? is there a way to import the Name of the file? I get many projects just with 40 Wav Files. This is a pain in the ass!!! 2) Is there a way to select several Tracks in the Arrangement and move them together? I know when using the mixer, one can select several tracks, but they cant be moved! In the Arrangement i can only select one track at a time.

You don't say which version of Logic you're using, but as far as I remember, Logic used to have a number of characters limit in file names. Used to drive me mad! It was finally fixed in version 9. Scott Jackson
Is there a way to select several Tracks in the Arrangement and move them together? I know when using the mixer, one can select several tracks, but they cant be moved! In the Arrangement i can only select one track at a time. Unfortunately there is no way to select and move multiple tracks in the Arrange. It would be nice if there was. It would also be nice if you could select several tracks in the Arrange and delete them all at once.

I am on Logic 9! I got a huge Folder with Wav's. Importet them and they all got weird Names, as decribed above! I just drag and droped. Does it make a difference? Hi, try packing them in a folder, moving the folder and unpacking. No prizes for geussing who thought of that one It begins with a D
ski
Hmmm... "Ski" doesn't begin with "D"... To the OP, before you do anything, re-name your files in the Finder to be no longer than 31 characters. Otherwise you will be dealing with the stupid name truncations that Logic imparts to long-named files.
Jordi Torres
About the Logic Pro 9.1 update File names with over 32 characters are now supported. Though I've heard of problems with long file names (or names containing "weird" characters) with the EXS24: http://www.logicprohelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=62119&sid=0724af798b8c94dc14d7039fb916440a J. ski
Reading between the lines, the OP isn't running 9.1.etc, as he reported the messed-up, re-named files.
beej
I am on Logic 9! Which could be: 9.0.0, 9.0.1, 9.0.2, 9.1.0, 9.1.1, 9.1.2, 9.1.3. Saying you are on "Logic 9" doesn't tell us which specific version of Logic you are using. Some of those (9.1.0 and up) have this problem fixed. If you are on any version below 9.1.0 you will get the behaviour you see.
