charmingnerd
I have a track with some automation. I want to keep the data and see what it sounds like with a different parameter. If I just change the parameter it thinks I want to start with fresh data on the new parameter. If I copy and paste to a new automation lane, it takes the parameter with it. Do I have to redraw it? Mehdi
Select the Automation yo want to copy, hold alt & click on the Automation Parameter Menu in the track Header. Choose the parameter you wish to copy existing automation data to) and then release the Option Key. Choose copy and convert if you want to keep the original automation data in place. charmingnerd
Thanks for the tip. I am finding that automation is very finicky. Very difficult to change things around. It doesn't always respond to Undo either, which is very frustrating.
Mehdi
I can undo automation. I often click and create a point by mistake, so I always cmd + z
charmingnerd
I wasn't very specific with that statement. When you choose a different parameter, Logic will not undo that action.
Mehdi
Ok sorry. If you want to delete an automation you just converted, the easiest is ctrl + cmd + backspace so it deletes visible automation data in the selected track.
