Logic automatically increases volume

I'm such a dope. YES. I have and m-audio key station hooked up. So I am under the assumption that if I set the key station volume back to zero, I shouldn't have this issue any more, yeah? I must have bumped it when I was cleaning it. Normally I don't even use the volume slider on my midi keyboard.

On the right side of the Arrange window you have the Media Browser.

You click that and gives you a couple of tabs, one of them is the Event List (I think if you hit E on the keyboard you'll get it directly, like B for Audio Bin).

Check the Event list for any controller info, anything that is not midi notes.

Thank you sir. I think that I got it. In the event list under status, there is a ton of info and all of them say "note," with the exception of one, which said, "control" and in the info portion it said "volume," so I deleted it. That must have been it. I haven't a clue as to how that even changed, but I appreciate you guys helping me out. I have been using logic for about two years now, but when something like this happens, the newb surfaces. lol. Thanks again

  • 3 months later...

See my post here for a couple of ways to deal with it.

By the way, those events in the region appear there because you went into record mode while your MIDI device decided it was time to send some events just make you go crazy (so to speak). The fact that you delete those events doesn't stop the midi device from doing its thing in real time, at any time. So deleting the events from the region will not fix the problem for good.
