Midi : Cannot get more than one program to play.

I have 2 ( NORD) tracks set up using "External Instrument", when I change the patch on the first track, it also changes the track on the second track. It does the same with my Korg. I've struggled with this for an age and cannot get it to behave differently. I'd like to be able to play more than one patch for each synth!

 

I also went to "environment route" but doing that I can't use the internal effects.

 

I've read the instructions, followed some DVD tutorials and still the answer evades me, any clues at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
