running logic pro 9 w/a profire 610...

it's kind of odd...i mixed a project down, and it was fine...no clicks, pops, artifacts or anything odd...the only problem is that it was kind of low in volume...sooooo i loaded up the production template which gives you two mastering tracks with some plug ins preloaded (which are all bypassed automatically)...when i played the track (w/out turning on any of the plug ins, i suddenly was hearing tiny pops here and there...i haven't heard them listening to it in any media players, just within logic itself...

i've verified it's running off the profire's internal clock, i've gone from small to large buffer size (i generally keep it at 256), i've checked my cables and wiring to make sure the issue isn't there, i've gone back and tried adjusting the levels on the track thinking maybe something was clipping, and more stuff i can't even remember...

still clicking and popping...

also, this question is a biggie (i can get rid of the clicks/pops more or less in soundtrack pro, right?)...when i run my songs through the mastering effects in the logic template (adlimiter, multipressor, light EQ, etc), all the levels are correct and everything maxes out at -0.5 dbfs...however, i took these tracks i mastered and loaded them all into one project to compare volume levels and they were all WAY into the red...

why would logic tell me when i master it that i have a half dbfs of headroom, then when i load the track into a new project tell me that i'm going 3 dbfs over 0?
