Soundhound
I have a Core 2 Duo Mac with 3 gigs of ram that I'm using for Logic 9. I experience these littler 'stalls' all the time. Not sure what to call it. I'll be working, and then everything will freeze. Usually for about 5 seconds? Then it'll spit out some audio, and I can continue as if nothing had happened. Things run smoothly and stable other than these stalls. I keep a close eye on RAM, so I don't think that's the issue here. I had been running out of ram, but I changed my workflow around and now usually have plenty of headroom there. I'm wondering if I have a dying sound card maybe? Anybody know what this kind of thing points to as a problem? Ways to find out what it is perhaps? Thanks.

Soundhound
I think it happens other times as well, not just in Logic. I'll check though, and will have a look at that thread thanks... Soundhound
The thread seems to deal more with macs that have more cores than mine, and a different kind of problem, more like a sluggishness. What I'm experiencing is actually freezes or stalls. I did try the suggestion of keeping external drives from sleeping, but that didn't seem to have an effect.
