adding blank measures to beginning of song

I recorded a song, both audio and midi. Now we have idea for a 32 measure intro we would like to add at beginning of song, with the original tracks to follow at measure 33.

 

I tried to "select all" tracks and drag them to measure 33, but for some wierd reason the midi instruments then played completely transposed somehow. When I move them back to the beginning they play the original notes again.

 

So how do I insert 32 blank measures at the beginning of the song, leaving the original song unchanged except it would then come in at measure 33 sounding as it originally did?

Create a 32 bar cycle at the beginning of the song, and choose Edit > Cut/Insert Time > Insert Silence Between Locators.

You probably have the Chord Track and/or the Transpose track active.
